Markets opened weak yesterday and remained choppy till late afternoon. However, markets bounced back during the closing hours amid short covering in index heavy weight stocks pushing the Sensex into positive territory. As per reports, rollover of Nifty positions from February 2009 series to March 2009 series stood at 67% while market wide rollover of positions was 61%. Finally, the Sensex, which plunged to a low of 8788 in morning trade, closed at 8954 with a marginal gain of 52 points, the Nifty closed at 2785, well off a low of 2731, gaining 23 points or 0.84%.

Strong support for Nifty Future exists at 2723, which if breached decisively, it may slide to 2685/2670.
